14 Weeks!

We have officially made it into the 2nd trimester, FINALLY! Though I started feeling much better a few weeks ago. I am still having occasional nausea. I woke up with morning sickness and puffiness Sunday morning, so I ate a bowl of cereal and downed a bottle of water.

We are on month 4 of 9! Only 5 more months to go before we meet our sweet Baby T. I had been having a lot of dreams about her coming around 35-36 weeks, the beginning of June. I still think there are a lot of reasons our sweet baby girl may be premature.

Now that we are in that 2nd trimester, I felt a lot of differences. I have much more energy. And my workout routines were more than prepared for that. Ready for me to jump in and start an hour long yoga session, daily in the 2nd trimester and harder moves in my prenatal barre class that I reassure myself I am doing this for T.

Today, I am 14 weeks and 2 days.

Our sweet Baby T is the size of a navel orange.

I believe I am showing. As a woman who carries most of her weight in her mid-section this wasn't much change. But I think I will carry Baby T, very high!

Sunday I had a headache the whole day. It was debilitating. I took Tylenol in the evening after having put up with it for hours. Thankfully, that headache has not returned these last two days. I could do my hour long yoga class yesterday followed by 15 minutes of barre.

Peach Fuzz - Sweet Baby T has sprouted hair on her head, her eyebrows and her body. I have started heartburn the last two days.

My Symptoms & Advice:

Round Ligament Pain - I think this has finally started for me, when I make quick movements I feel a lot of pains in my lower abdomen, I know I need to slow down for Baby and me. I am also coughing and sneezing a lot, which makes that sudden pain strike harder and more frequently.

Suppressed Immune System - I perpetually live with a suppressed immune system, so Baby T is just adding a third suppresser to that. So I am used to staying careful with germs, but since I am living for two now, I am even more careful. Washing my hands very frequently. Not sharing drinks or food, even with my husband.

Increased Energy - I already touched a bit on the energy I am feeling!

Varicose Veins - I have not started getting these yet, but as my mother and grandmother both had them, I will expect them to show up soon. I am doing a lot of extra exercise to keep blood flowing well to keep from getting them though.

Changes in Skin - I have had MANY new moles pop up during this pregnancy. I see a dermatologist yearly to check up on all of my moles and skin changes.

Remembering to Eat - I make note to eat every 3 hours, though most OB/GYN's recommend every two hours in pregnancy. I ate breakfast/lunch at 12 today so I will make sure I have a snack around 3pm. I have cut up carrots and celery that I plan to eat a bit, soon so I can have a light snack before dinner.

Tattoos - You should not get a tattoo during pregnancy, as your skin will change a lot during the weight gain and loss. I am not big into tattoos and though I have one small one, I know I will never get another.

Shopping Smart - Try to eat as many fresh foods as possible. Avoiding the processed foods as they contain added sugar, salt, calories and fat that isn't beneficial to you or Baby.

My OB/GYN sent me two videos to watch this week.

One on genetic testing in pregnancy, which I have already done and came back at low risk. Last week I did the Horizon Carrier test and am waiting for the results from that test to come in sometime this week, I am not concerned with them though.

The second was on Child Birth, and I really wish she hadn't sent it. It listed 7 ways you can die during childbirth; I am an anxious woman who is always terrified of dying. I did not need a long list of ways I could die before meeting my sweet Baby T. Thankfully; I am seeing a heart doctor soon who could tell me if it is possible or likely that I may have heart issues during labor and if she is concerned, we could do a scheduled C-Section, though I have already been told repeatedly that my heart should be in great condition to deliver.

The second issue that has me terrified is an infection. I am going to my Gastroenterologist tomorrow and will discuss with her if she thinks I should pause on my medications for Crohn's in the weeks before delivery to lower my risk of infection.
