I am 16 weeks and 2 days today.
Baby T is sensitive to light this week, but with my uterus being tipped and her having an anterior placenta, I doubt she is seeing much light.
We are still in the 4th month of pregnancy. Only 5 more months until we meet our sweet baby girl!
It is the week I have anxiously been waiting for, Baby T can hear now! I started reading the books I read out loud to her. And try to be mindful of the tone and language that I use with my husband.
My bump looks like a baby bump! I think she is not near the surface, but I am awfully round and any non-maternity shirts are too short! I have put away all of my pre-pregnancy clothes at this point.
Weight Gain - I am sticking around 179, I may have gained the next half a pound from week 15 to week 16 that is recommended to me. But boy do I EAT. I haven't had such a big appetite since I was pregnant with the twins. I woke up starving and with a headache around 6 am this morning so I ran to Wendy's for a breakfast sandwich and a coffee; I haven't been drinking coffee.
Nasal Congestion & Nose Bleeds - Yes, since a few weeks ago I have constant nasal congestion and very frequent nose bleeds. I got out a Vicks warm mist humidifier but my husband complained of not being able to breathe when it ran so I asked him to pick up a cool mist humidifier, but I still have nose bleeds daily. Two days ago I blew my nose because I was trying to read out loud to Baby and couldn't catch my breath, but when I blew it just tons and tons of blood came out so I laid down for ten minutes holding my nose.
Increased Vaginal Discharge - Kind of but it is less like the gloopy, thick discharge I had in early pregnancy with the mucous plug growing and now it is more like the discharge common during ovulation. Clear, light and wet. I also don't feel it, with the twins early on, I felt wet all the time and could feel the constant discharge. But Baby T has implanted very high in my uterus, so I think that helps.
Backaches - Actually where my back hurts, I don't think has to do with pregnancy. My upper back hurts, up above my ribs. This may be because of growing breasts and weight gain more than a growing uterus.
Bleeding Gums - Yes, when I floss my gums bleed, but thankfully it is not painful because it is really important in pregnancy to keep the gums clean so bacteria does not grow and cause pregnancy complications.
Soups - Soups are recommended in pregnancy, which is a great thing for my husband and I. We love soup and eat it probably every other day. My husband's birthday was a little over a week ago and I bought him these cool, simple gadgets called "Souper Cubes" to freeze soup for easy portioning.
Choose Good Calories - I am probably not choosing as good of calories as I should choose, especially knowing that Baby T's taste buds are developing, but I try to eat a lot of eggs and carrots!
Arm Pit Hair - THE WEIRDEST pregnancy symptom I have now experienced is decreased/stopped arm pit hair growth. Last night I showered and shaved my legs and when I went to shave my armpits, I saw they were already baby smooth, so I blamed it on pregnancy brain, "oh I must have done this before starting my legs and forgot" But no, I had purposely showered so I could shave my legs because I can only handle a couple days growth. Then I told my husband and looked it up and I guess many women, who are pregnant with girls, have experienced this as well. AWESOME! I can take this.
I am still sad to report I don't feel Baby T moving yet, but it seems all pregnancy symptoms I have experienced have just come out of the blue FULL-ON. Definitely not a gradual process. So I bet this is how feeling movement will be too. Just one day I will feel her with no warning.
I am getting headaches constantly.
I have opted to take a break from the magnesium supplement that my OB recommended.
Yesterday I could do yoga and barre again after only a day break after hurting my foot. It felt good to do, but I took it much slower than I was before being mindful of where I am moving and how I am distributing my weight.
Since starting my Omeprazole again, I have had no issues with heartburn or burping. Last time it took a few days to feel better, but this time it was like as soon as I took my first pill again I felt instant relief. I am very pleased with this, as it is much more comfortable to not have to deal with this ailment.
