26 Weeks Pregnant

Baby T is already running out of room in Mama's Womb.

Baby T has her eyes open and we could experiment with her by shining a light on my belly to watch her move. We haven't done this and probably will not. I just leave Baby T to be as much as I can. I already disturb her twice a day by listening to her with a Doppler. My sweet baby girl.

Baby T has responded to voices and words in the womb now. She moves much more when I am reading to her at night.

Belly Button - My belly button continues to look how it always does Baby T has moved back down from where I was hearing her heartbeat in earlier weeks.

Insomnia - I am still taking Unisom at night to help me sleep. I have been sleeping okay. I sleep best in the late morning hours. I have trouble falling asleep at night no matter what I do, I still lay awake for at least an hour.

Baby's Movements - I can feel Baby T moving often.

Clumsiness - I have had no increased clumsiness. I am not doing deep lunges though because of that fall at the beginning of the 2nd trimester.

Round Ligament Pain - I cannot distinguish one pain from another these days. I have a lot of pain in my groin, constantly so I cannot cross my legs. This has been the case since week 17 though. I also have Braxton-Hicks whenever I am slightly uncomfortable. Yesterday we went downtown to get our Covid Vaccines, and I had Braxton-Hicks almost from the time I got out of the car to the time I sat down to receive the vaccine because I was having to rush so much.

Baby Registry - We have had a running baby registry since finding out we were pregnant. Now we have finely tuned it and only have what we really need/will purchase if not gifted to us.

Thoroughly Cook Meat & Fish - We have been very careful about cooking our meat and fish since trying to conceive.

Avoid Raw Eggs - I eat my eggs either hard fried or scrambled with cheese. I don't really like eggs, though. I have reverted to a lot of my pickiness during pregnancy. In the years leading up to pregnancy since meeting my husband we had been eating based on health recommendations, but after conceiving I found this much harder and would eat more simple carbs and avoid super healthy food that didn't sound good to me, such as eggs.

Wash Up - Thankfully, the careful expectations of pregnancy have helped me wash down our counters before and after every meal, something I have been meaning to do for years.

Tracking Baby's Movements - I have used a kick counter on 2 occasions when Baby T was very active. They recommend monitoring your exercise routine effect on baby by measuring how often they move after your workout.

I had not signed up to receive the vaccine, waiting for a doctor to recommend I receive it. They had not specifically tested the affects during pregnancy or while on immunosuppressants.

But my husband had signed up back in January.

Our local hospital reached out to him to schedule his vaccine.

When they did this, they asked if he had a spouse.

My husband explained to the scheduler the complexities of my situation, and she said that they were highly recommending the vaccine for pregnant individuals. So I scheduled my appointment at the same time as his.

This meant I had to call my OB and High Risk OB yesterday to make sure I should still keep this appointment. So Monday morning I woke up at 9 am to call my high risk OB to see if they recommended getting the vaccine. They stated they had no concerns. After calling my high risk OB, I called my regular OB to check in with her office and also ask about my other vaccination scheduled. I was told that in 2 weeks I will be receiving my D-TaP vaccine, but I have asked to move that to 30 weeks so that I can receive my second dose of the Covid vaccine without a hitch. It sounds like this will work out, and many other pregnant women have done the same thing. So I was then feeling quite confident.

I spoke to other pregnant mama's who received the vaccine.

This is the best choice for Baby T and myself.

I have such a weak immune system.

We have avoided every social situation. Knowing that I could have major complications if I did contract Covid and thanks to my weakened immune system, I could and would contract it easily. This is still a huge concern as I am told because of my 2 immunosuppressants and weakened immune response thanks to pregnancy, I will not create all the antibodies that an individual not on immunosuppressants and pregnant will.
