31 Weeks Pregnant

Today is 31 weeks and 2 days with sweet Baby T. I am finally putting on weight at a rapid pace.

Baby T's brain is developing brain connections at a rapid pace. Which is good because she needs millions.

Baby T is getting lots of sleep these days, just like her mama. I am exhausted today. I am wearing a big comfy dress. But we have so much to do today and this week.

Baby T's sense of smell is already very strong and though she can't smell yet, the first scent most babies experience is that of their mother, which grows to be their favorite as it is synonymous with comfort.

Shortness of Breath - I actually have suffered this the whole pregnancy with the gas and belching. Right now is actually a haven away from any issues. I can breathe in comfort and have my Omeprazole back so I am not miserable with acid reflux. Another thing is, I expect that my sweet little T is already dropped into my pelvic region. Yes, I can feel her kick up high but her little heartbeat is still found just above my pelvic bone. And I have so much pelvic pain and upper thigh pain, I just kept falling back asleep this morning, I was in so much pain.

Sex During Pregnancy - This is actually something my husband and I have not felt comfortable doing. We have talked about potentially using that to go into labor on our own next month, but honestly we are just too big to make it work.

Backaches - I have not had too many backaches, occasionally right above my hips in the back hurt, which I suspect is them falling out of line.

Pregnancy Brain - This week my only pregnancy brain moment was during my virtual baby shower I got together all the cards I had received, but forgot one that I loved so much I hung it up so I could look at it every day.

Pack Your Hospital Bag - My bag is all packed with only a short list sitting next to it of things we should grab on our way out that we do not have doubles of such as phone chargers and my husband's pillow. We have two pairs of underwear for both my husband and I, though; I expect I will wear hospital underwear.

Drinking Plenty of Water - Not an issue for this gal, as I always drink lots of water and with the Gestational Diabetes I am constantly thirsty. I go through at least 8 bottles of water a day. I can drink so much water I am always shocked at how quickly I run out of water in my bottle. They are 16 ounce water bottles, but it's almost always gone before I even set it down.

Comfortable Shoes - For now I am still fitting into my Birkenstocks and thankfully they can loosen as well, so I am hoping to continue these for the rest of my pregnancy.

Prevent Varicose Veins - I think I can still prevent these by sitting with my legs up frequently. I am so blessed that I can stay home during this pregnancy.

Simple Stretches - Simple stretches are recommended to help relieve tension during the third trimester. That is what my Prenatal Yoga has transitioned to.

I am getting so much from Prenatal Yoga and recommend anyone practice yoga at anytime.

This morning I slept in until 11:30.

I am writing thank you cards and putting away gifts from Baby T's Baby Shower on Saturday.

I am catching up on laundry.

Things seem to go well this week, but I am so tired. Yesterday I never woke up. I had an extremely busy day, but I didn't feel fully awake at all, all day.

Last night we had an Infant/Child Safety Class, that only has given me confidence that I am ready to handle all the scary moments of motherhood. The Nurse teaching it was giving outdated information and my husband and I were both very disappointed in the class. I had wanted to take it as a refresher on Infant CPR and Heimlich maneuver.

Tonight we have a car seat safety class.

I hope we get more out of this class. We have our car seat ready but I had chosen to donate a baby doll replica of one I had as a young girl and I wish I had not because she would be perfect to sit in for Baby T.

I think I know how to put our child into our car seat safely.

What I had actually been most interested in was setting up the base. Yes, car seats have videos on how to set up the base, and we plan to have ours checked at the fire station.

That is actually what I plan to do tomorrow after we take this class tonight.

I will drive my husband's car to the fire station as we are planning on his car being the car we bring home Baby T from the hospital in. I was given a second base and after I have the base in my husband's car approved, I will set up the base in my car. That way I will feel confident.

Thursday we have our next growth ultrasound.
