Hello my loves! My birthday was Friday! Today is now Monday, so I had a spectacular birthday weekend. And today is the last bit of my birthday celebration. I can't tell you about that part just yet, though. We celebrated Friday by getting Olga's Kitchen. I have not had it since we locked down in March. I got donuts in the morning on Friday for breakfast and dessert, since I am not really a cake fan. I have been craving donuts for about a week and eating them quelled that craving! My husband usually travels for work and will get donuts at a legendary donut shop about an hour from our home, but now that he works from home we haven't had them. I still wish we had had those donuts. But these were more of an appropriate serving size.
The weather finally caught up with the season.
I have been doing short exercises inside along with my yoga.
I haven't been eating much, cooking much, or baking much. I just have not felt up for being in the kitchen this week.
COVID-19 is really ramping up again near us. My husband heard that now 1 in 357 Americans have COVID-19.
So I am planning to not leave the house for a while, except for Doctor's appointments. I got all of my shopping done last week so I can just order necessities or ask my husband to pick them up if he goes out shopping soon.
My sister was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis last week and it is so heartbreaking, but we can fight this as a family. My sister is extremely strong and stubborn, so I know she will give MS one hell of a fight. She just may have to change her lifestyle, unfortunately she is a high-strung, fast-paced woman and I don't think that will come easy for her. She has been a smoker for 22 years and has never had an interest in quitting.
We went to the Dentist last week and I have better teeth than I have had in all my life. I no longer have plaque build-up, something I have struggled with my whole life. I don't know what has changed. My mom guessed it could be one medication I am on. I mean, I floss much more than I did when I was younger, but even that I just don't build up much. Low plaque build-up feels so nice.
I am not looking into returning to work and may start the YouTube channel to supplement the blog; I had discussed earlier. I have a video camera on my Christmas wish list so I can make cooking videos and when we have a child make videos of them. I would like to share parenting hacks.
Our cats are being weird, they have very distinct, different personalities and interests, and yet every couple days we find that they switch bodies in their interests and behaviors. Rusty is all about food. But some days I have to yell at Kevin for being on counters. Kevin loves hair ties and is very skittish. But there are days when Rusty plays with hair ties and jumps at every sound. Kevin is more playful. And some days Rusty just wants to play. I get that cats learn from each other, but just watching the way they interact with each other and with us, we can see so much.
My new nephew is born! He is perfect and healthy. He was born Wednesday, November 11, 2020.
I had been having nightmares for the last two weeks about his birth, so to have him here feels so much better. But I had instant relief when my sister got induced and I have since only had extremely vivid, but good dreams. Though I am not sure when we will get to meet him. With COVID-19 ramping up and not wanting to catch or spread anything, it could still be after December that we get down to meet him.
I am trying to do more around the house since I am not into doing much in the kitchen. I am working on rearranging things. Making our home maximize in space. Clearing off coffee tables and clearing counter space. Getting rid of clothes that don't fit anymore, which is a constant job.
We watched Safe on Netflix this weekend.
I have not been reading Dreamcatcher anymore. I have little interest in reading it anymore, so I am just taking a break for now. Maybe at a later date I will feel up for reading it again. I also have the new Twilight book. And have a biography by Rachel Bloom coming in 2-3 weeks. I may read these two books first and then pick back up Dreamcatcher, I have heard that if you don't have an interest in a book you should just stop reading it all together because there are so many good books to read and why waste hours? But I cannot do that.
