Fried Food Festivities

We made fried green tomatoes and zucchini fries for dinner Sunday night.

It was absolutely delicious.

With our leftover fried green tomatoes we reheated them in the air fryer and made fried green tomato BLT's yesterday for lunch.

I think that was even better than the night before. That was actually my first time using the air fryer. It works wonders.

Yesterday my sister and nephew came over to spend the evening with us and we had a fried foods frenzy.

Since we are still in the midst of a pandemic and not able to enjoy the county fairs and other festivities our fried foods festival was all we could do to make the best of it.

We tempura battered the other half of the cut up zucchini we had from the night before.

Tempura battered some mushrooms and fried those.

Fried jalapeno poppers and fried dill pickle chips that we picked up at the store last night. Those only took a few minutes in the deep fryer and they were delicious!

My husband and nephew after this tried frying some bacon.

Then they fried oreos dipped in the tempura batter. Those were pretty good, not as good as the pancake batter dipped oreos that we usually get from the fairs. I would probably make them again like that.

Lastly, they fried a marshmallow.

This was a pretty big mess but it was a fun night. We also played card games. Life almost felt normal again.

Obviously our fried food festivities in our home have not been our healthiest foods. But my tummy has stopped with the diarrhea and calmed down with my nausea.

This week I am approaching over 2 weeks without spotting for the first time since my D & C. I am feeling kind of ill. I have a headache still and today my throat hurts. My sister suggested stocking up on dollar store pregnancy tests so I can take those and not be wasting as much money while I wait for a positive.

I have been going over my husband's bathroom with another layer of paint. It is so time consuming.

I have been able to be pretty productive again. Life is beautiful.

A few days ago I told my husband that we should go on a date. His response was so serious "with who?" This shows even more to me that we could use some more romance between the two of us with everything that has been going on.

So I am coming up with some Quarantine friendly dates we can partake in.

  • Go on a walk on our bike trail near our home.

  • Have a picnic on our deck.

  • Build a blanket fort in our new living room and watch a movie cuddling in it.

  • Order Meal for 2 Curbside from Chilis and eat together while playing romantic music.

  • Get ice cream from our favorite ice cream place and watch the sunset from the park on the hill over the city.

Our dates have been even further pushed off lately because I have refused to leave home because of my tummy issues. I have already been caught off guard every time I have been out and then have to hurry home to use the bathroom. I feel safest just staying home and being near the bathroom.

Most if these ideas also allow me to be able to pause on our romantic dates to rush off to the bathroom. The park being the only adventure away from home. But I just realized while thinking f romantic places that I have not brought my husband there. I haven't been to that park in nearly 10 years now but it has such perfect views.

I will pester my husband into doing these dates one by one biweekly so that we can work on spending more quality time together. We spend a lot of time together and some of that is quality but romance would probably help us a bit.

The way we have been spending quality time together most recently is that we both bought Bitizenship on the phone app bit life and have been playing BitLife while sitting side by side and sharing what is happening in our characters life.

The game has become much better after buying the membership and I have been dedicating my time to creating a 5,000 year lineage in my game, this is extremely time consuming but very interesting too. I figured it will just take me a few months to succeed since I am a few days of heavy playing in and not yet at 2,000 years.

But I would highly recommend the game if you have time to waste on your phone in the evenings or are looking for something to suck you in and pass the time. It is a lot of fun building other lives.

Today is just dedicated to setting up our new air conditioner, painting (hopefully the last layer of paint) the bathroom and cleaning up the kitchen.
