I just wanted to share what my daily routine looks like at this point in pregnancy.
I wake up, most frequently between 9 am and 10 am. I have to take my Levothyroxine on an empty stomach and wait at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything besides water. More often than not, I have not taken my Levothyroxine before I wake up.
So I get up to use the bathroom and take my Levothyroxine and lay back down in bed and run my humidifier on high because my husband complains it is too hard for him to breathe with his asthma when I run it when he is in bed and he gets up around 7:30 for work.
I get up between a half hour and an hour after taking my Levothyroxine and make a whey protein shake with 8 ounces of 2% milk and a banana mixed in. This helps with my protein intake, and some days my husband will have one with almond milk and without the banana. But more often he has a breakfast bar instead.
Some days I read "What to Expect When You're Expecting" while I drink my smoothie but today I just went into writing in my journal to Baby T, where I tell her anything that is on my mind that day, what I dreamt about, what we have done to prepare for her arrival since the day before, how I am feeling or just write for a whole page about how much I love her and she means to me.
Then I usually work on my blog or online presence for about an hour until lunch time. I usually write for an hour a day and some blogs take a day to complete if I have planned out what I would like to say before sitting down to write, and sometimes it takes a whole week of an hour a day of writing.
For lunch my husband comes up in the 12 o'clock hour and we eat something together and talk about what is on our minds. Today I am going to heat some winter squash that is in the refrigerator from last night's dinner with butter on top. This was squash I made in November and froze to get out at a later date. Then I am making grilled cheese sandwiches and splitting a can of soup between us both.
Usually after lunch I do a half hour of prenatal yoga. I have actually just been following YouTubers programs. I enjoy the deep stretches and feel so much better whenever I do yoga.
I then do a half hour of prenatal barre that I have been following on Beachbodyondemand I enjoy those practices as well. I build up a good sweat and get my heart pumping. I have heard that there are many benefits to a baby in utero while mom is exercising, including that it gives them that desire to exercise lifelong.
By this time it is usually 2:30 to 3 pm and I do laundry, vacuum, tidy up around the house. Most days I have to shower after my exercise because I will build up enough of a sweat before I can go into cleaning the house.
I try to have a snack around 3:30 to 4 pm, I would like to make it a little sooner but I usually get so wrapped up in what I do that until I can actually feel hunger I don't stop to take that break. I most frequently have a bowl of Greek yogurt with frozen blueberries.
I return to doing some things around the house, taking breaks to make sure I have enough water and alternate rest and active. When I sit down to drink, I usually read the many books that I am reading on top of "What to Expect When You're Expecting," "Dreamcatcher," "Gossip Girl," and "Educated." "Dreamcatcher" is the Stephen King book I started months ago and have not really enjoyed enough. I pulled out Gossip Girl books shortly after pregnancy because I felt such a drive to re-read my favorite series before entering motherhood.
Around 5 I make dinner, today I am making turkey and gravy over brown rice with frozen green beans. The turkey gravy is another meal I prepared at an earlier date and froze to get out and re-heat with mashed potatoes, rice or stuffing.
We usually eat dinner between 5:20 and 6:30 depending on how late my husband has to work.
After dinner I clean up and usually my husband and I settle into watching some series or movie on a streaming service. I get up frequently to stretch and walk around so my pelvic bone doesn't get unbearably painful.
Around 7 to 9 pm we have one last snack before bed. Last night it was a chocolate chip cookie and a handful of chips.
We usually get ready for bed between 9:30 and 10 pm.
We have a predictable, comfortable routine right now. Once the weather gets over 50 degrees again, I will trade that half hour of barre for walks with my husband. He needs to get some exercise for the stress relief of it, but he gets more stressed about exercise.
You can see how swollen my pelvis is in this photo from yesterday.
