OB Visit & Gestational Diabetes Nutrition

I just got home from my nutrition visit.

Yesterday I had my 30 week OB appointment, both appointments were very productive.

The last appointment that will be only one appointment per week, as I start twice weekly Fetal Non-Stress Tests at 32 weeks. That will keep me busy for the rest of my pregnancy, that is now getting very short! I guess I will get lots of driving practice in.

At this appointment I discussed some of my low blood sugar numbers with my OB and we both know this is because of how bad my acid reflux has gotten so I cannot eat much at all and have found nothing I can eat. But thankfully I got my Omeprazole back yesterday.

She told me that my fundal height is 31 weeks.

This is great news for Baby T's size. She is not too big, or too small. Both have made me nervous since my diagnosis of gestational diabetes. That my intrauterine growth restriction will kick in. I still have a week until we see her on an ultrasound to see how she has grown. But Baby T is staying active, and I believe that is a sign that she is doing just fine. My belly is also ever growing.

My blood pressure was fantastic.

My ankles are just swelling.

My OB told me they will most likely induce between June 21st and June 25th. This is about 3 to 7 days earlier than I have been expecting. That will be during our 38th week. My OB said to avoid ever hitting 39 weeks when some risks with gestational diabetes and intrauterine growth restriction rise.

I am still going to keep counting down to June 28th until we get scheduled, but remember it won't even be that day. I can't wait to have Baby T in my arms. Though that will certainly change the frequency of my blog. I will see if I get many chances to blog at all at first.

I also got a prescription for a yeast infection treatment. Saturday I had the thick white cottage cheese discharge,. But The last few days it has been clear, but my vagina feels dry, itchy and painful.

They are adding to the bike trail near our house, which is lovely. We currently enjoy jumping in our car, driving to the end of the road and taking a half-hour walk along the trail. I hope to continue doing this when Baby T is here.

We still will have to drive to the end of our street to get on the bike trail, which I wish was not the case.

My parents will be here tomorrow.

My house is currently overtaken by boxes and baby stuff. After the baby shower this weekend, we will have a fun time finding homes for all the new baby goods. I have to move things around to fit the table.

I am looking forward to my virtual baby shower. It should be a fun time and I hope to get to chat with some of my friends and family during that time too. It is so nice that I will get to have some connection with them during this time.

I miss seeing friends and family in person. Though my mother-in-law stopped by Tuesday to bring gifts from my husband's side of the family. They got the CUTEST outfits that I cannot wait to see Baby T in. I will show them off during the virtual baby shower along with all the other gifts we have received. We are so loved and spoiled by so many, I never expected to get so showered in gifts.

Summer brings with it a desire to spend more time with loved ones.

Baby T is as active as ever, and I am told to keep track of her movements at least once a day. Yesterday she reached her 10 kicks in 5 minutes while daddy sang Baby Shark. She is going to love having a mom and dad who constantly sing.

Our cats have tried to adjust to all the new stuff coming into our house. My kitty, Kevin seems upset by it but is embracing it, I am sure he knows exactly what is happening and will love Baby T so much. Rusty, the kitty we inherited from my Grandmother-in-law has gotten much more gentle with me.

I have turned to the "dark side" deciding that diet coke as a treat a few times a week is acceptable for the duration of my pregnancy. I stopped and got a diet coke on my way home from my appointment this morning.

I stopped yesterday morning as well.

Now I am continuing to track my blood sugars and will report them every Thursday for the rest of my pregnancy. I am seeing the MFM doctor a week from today so I will report this week's numbers at that appointment. I am told to bring my meter and lists.

I think I have figured the whole thing out.

It is such a comfort.
