I was put on a MethylPrednisolone 4 mg dose pack for 6 days. I took 6 pills Friday, 5 Saturday, 4 Sunday, 3 today, 2 tomorrow and 1 on Wednesday and I will be done then. My gastroenterologist prescribed this after I had diarrhea and pain all last week. Saturday the diarrhea stopped very suddenly. I am still having pain and frequent gas but I am hoping by the end of this week that might lift too.
My gastroenterologist feels that the mild flare is just caused by my stopping Imuran in February and going back onto it by 6 weeks I should be back in remission. The steroids are just to help keep the flare from getting worse before those 6 weeks pass.
My gastroenterologist also said that we could go back to trying for a baby after the 6 days of steroids. I am looking forward to that and am extremely relieved that we did not have to out a long pause on our plans to build a family.
I am feeling quite confident again and so thankful for my wonderful health team that I have built to help with this time.
Tomorrow morning my husband and I are going to see my OB for another exam to see if things are okay since I have just had a week to 10 day cycle repeat over and over for the last 8 weeks since my D & C. I am feeling okay for a few days, then I get signs of ovulation and just when I get hopeful of that I start spotting and then feel pregnant and then back to feeling okay again. So I want to make sure I am not suffering an infection and see where my hormones lie at this time.
